Because neodymium magnets contain neodymium and iron, they are susceptible to corrosion. Because of this, neodymium magnets are typically coated with nickel or another material, such as zinc, copper, tin, epoxy, aluminum, silver, or gold. A standard neodymium magnet has a working temperature of up to 80°C, although special high temperature neodymium magnets are capable of withstanding temperatures up to 200°C.
